Applications are being accepted for three appointments to the Tourist Development Council (TDC), for a term of four years, beginning Nov. 1, 2026. Applicants must be electors registered to vote in Pinellas County, be involved in the tourism industry, and demonstrate an interest in tourist development. Appointments must meet the following requirements:
1. One appointment must be an owner or operator of motel(s), hotel(s), recreational vehicle park(s), or other tourist accommodations in the county that are subject to the tourist development tax (the "Accommodations" category).
2. One appointment must be someone involved in the tourism industry who is not in the Accommodations category (the "Tourist Industry" category).
3. One appointment will be from either category.
The TDC is an advisory council composed of 12 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) to make recommendations as to the effective use and expenditures of tourist development tax revenues. The membership of the TDC is governed by Florida Statute 125.0104 and Section 118-34, Pinellas County Code.
