Bellflower Partners with LASD Task Force to Crack Down on Street Takeovers
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is expanding its efforts to combat illegal street takeovers through a dedicated Street Takeover Task Force.
Lakewood Sheriff's Station will actively participate in the task force, providing personnel for coordinated special enforcement operations, training and rapid deployment throughout the region. Local Special Assignment Officer teams will also provide additional coverage to respond to street takeover activity as it occurs.
These efforts are especially important for Bellflower, which has recently experienced two separate street takeovers associated with subsequent smash-and-grab burglaries at local businesses. The City continues to work closely with the Sheriff's Department to address these dangerous activities, protect the business community and hold those responsible for criminal activity accountable.
