Senator Murray Urges Colleagues to Support Final Passage of Three-Bill Funding Package

ICYMI: Murray, Top Appropriators Release Three-Bill Minibus

***WATCH: Senator Murray's Remarks***

Washington, D.C. - Ahead of the Senate's vote today on final passage of a three-bill funding package, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, delivered the following remarks, encouraging passage of the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development; and Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies fiscal year 2026 appropriations bills.

Text, summaries, and more information on the three bills in the package are available HERE.

Senator Murray's remarks, as delivered, are below:

"I want to thank Chair Collins and Cole, Ranking Member DeLauro-as well as our fantastic subcommittee leaders, and all our staffs-for working so hard to put this package together.

"This vote is about returning power to the American people, protecting the funding that they count on, and making sure Congress-not Trump and Vought-decide how taxpayer dollars get spent.

"We have before us a package of bipartisan bills-the product of hard, serious negotiations-that reject devastating Trump cuts that would cut scientific research, raise energy prices, and make our communities less safe and prosperous.

"These bills protect key investments in scientific research, our Tribes, our public lands, and so much else-and they reassert the power of Congress to make our nation's funding decisions.

"Congress-that'sus. So, let's choose to exercise our power and make sure our states' voices are heard by passing these bills now and getting them signed into law."
