Governor Katie Hobbs Legislative Action Update

Phoenix, AZ - Today, Governor Katie Hobbs took the following legislative action:

Signed

SB1092 dangerous crimes against children; probation

SB1126 DCS caseworkers; schools; required disclosures

SB1252 uniform assignment; benefit of creditors

SB1430 tax corrections act of 2026

SB1479 deeds; identification; forgery; notice; notaries

Governor Hobbs also released the following statement on today's signing of SB 1126 and last week's signing of SB 1125:

"Protecting our children is my top priority. As a social worker and as Governor, I've made it my mission to ensure every child in Arizona is safe and supported. After the heartbreaking deaths of children known to the Arizona Department of Child Safety, we asked ourselves and each other tough questions, identified systemic factors, and got to work.

"SB 1126 implements critical reforms that will improve DCS's ability to investigate child abuse and neglect. It strengthens communication between caseworkers and schools, creating access to vital information that enables the department to effectively carry out its duties. SB 1125 builds on existing efforts at DCS to engage with Tribes, equipping them with information they need to facilitate placement of children in Tribal custody. These bills are not the only solution, but are important steps forward."

"I will continue to fight for our children and do everything in my power to give our kids the safety and security they deserve."
