Buckeye police arrest two, ages 10 and 16, on weapons charges

BUCKEYE, AZ (December 4, 2025): Two juvenile males are facing charges after showing off a gun at a Buckeye park and then hiding the weapon when confronted by police. The younger of the suspects is only 10 years old.

Last night around 5:45 p.m. Buckeye police received a report of a group of males handling a gun at a park near Sundance Pkwy and 219th Ln. Officers responded to the area and located two juveniles matching the suspect descriptions. One of the suspects, a 10-year-old male, was found to have a handgun matching the unique description provided by witnesses inside a backpack. The second juvenile, a 16-year-old male, was also identified as being involved in the incident at the park. The younger suspect was released to a guardian with Buckeye police submitting weapons misconduct charges. The 16-year-old suspect was booked into jail for similar weapons charges.

These arrests were made by the new Buckeye Police Impact Team. The team is funded by a grant with the purpose of addressing and preventing gun violence and supporting the patrol and investigations units.
