The National Weather Service has forecast an El Niño storm season that could bring heavy rain to San José. The City invites residents to attend a free storm preparedness workshop hosted by the City Manager's Office of Emergency Management.
The virtual workshop will provide best practices to help residents prepare their homes and families ahead of the El Niño storm season. Residents are encouraged to register online to attend. Language interpretation will be provided in Spanish (Español), Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt), and Chinese (中文).
Residents will learn how to:
-
Sign up for emergency alerts.
-
Check if their home is in a flood zone.
-
Create an emergency plan and supply kit.
The City Manager's Office of Emergency Management leads efforts to protect life, property and the environment by developing, coordinating and managing programs that prevent, prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.
