Chargé d’ Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan Shi Yuanqiang Attends Green Development-themed Seminar Titled “Shared Future, Shared Prosperity”

On August 20th, Shi Yuanqiang, Chargé d' Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, attended a green development-themed seminar titled "Shared Future, Shared Prosperity" and delivered an address. The event was jointly organized by the Climate Vulnerable Forum and Vulnerable Twenty Group (CVF-V20) and the Institute of Regional Studies. Notable attendees included Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, and Naghmana Hashmi, former Pakistani Ambassador to China, who also spoke at the seminar.

Shi Yuanqiang stated that China has always been a firm advocate of South-South climate cooperation. He expressed China's readiness to work with Pakistan to deepen South-South cooperation on climate change, build a green Silk Road, and promote a fair, equitable, and mutually beneficial global environmental governance system, thereby injecting new momentum into the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

Pakistani guests highly commended China's remarkable achievements in ecological civilization. They noted that China's technological and industrial advantages in renewable energy provide strong support for Global South countries in tackling climate change, and expressed their willingness to strengthen green development cooperation with China to jointly build a greener and better future.
