The Solution Partners division of the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) has restructured its Board of Directors to incorporate representatives of the Specialized Furniture Carriers, a subset of the supplier division since 2009.
"Merging the two separate boards will eliminate duplication, simplify governance and align additional resources behind AHFA's annual global logistics and supply chain conference," explained Gene Clark, executive director of the Solution Partners division.
Serving as chair of the newly combined board is Chad Gore, vice president of Eastern region sales for Leggett & Platt Home Furniture Components, High Point. His vice chair is Jeremy Copeland, regional sales manager for Carpenter Company, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Second vice chairman is Dan Hunt of Murrow's Transfer. Eddie Massood of Massood Logistics is the immediate past chair, rounding out the executive committee.
The 12-member board includes four seats each for the general industry services sector; for companies supplying equipment, machinery or component parts; and for logistics companies, including furniture carriers.
As representatives from each of the three sectors rotates off the board, new candidates from within that sector will be named to take their places, thereby maintaining the one-third split for each sector.
Board members with terms expiring at the end of 2026 include Eddie Massood, Massood Logistics; Greg Kincaid, Sherwin Williams; and Jonathan Reich, Womble Bond Dickinson. Members with terms expiring at the end of 2027 include James Harmon, Smith-Leonard PLLC; Freddie Davis, Gulfstream Shippers Association; and Chad Gore, Leggett & Platt.
Those with terms expiring at the end of 2028 are Barrett Plasman, Marsh McLennan Agency; Jeremy Copeland, Carpenter Company; and Scott Prillaman, Hooker Home Furnishings.
Finally, board members with terms expiring in 2029 are Amra Tareen, All3D; Dan Hunt, Murrow's Transfer; and Tammy Buckner, Culp.
The Solution Partners division will continue the certification program launched by the Specialized Furniture Carriers last year. The program invites companies that specialize in furniture transportation and logistics to become "certified" as experts in providing specific home furnishings services.
The program allows companies to identify one or more primary areas of service: 1) Carrier; 2) White Glove/Final Mile; 3) Warehousing/3PL; and 4) International Shipping/Brokering. The application requires information supporting these areas of expertise, including years of experience, home furnishings industry volume, home furnishings-specific training and home furnishings-specific equipment and/or technology. Companies meeting the criteria will be identified as a "certified" provider of that service.
Questions about the new board structure or the certification program can be directed to Gene Clark.
