Faculty Lecture Series — Creative Resistance: Protest Across Art, Occupation, and Time

Dominican University of California presents the fall 2025 Faculty Lecture Series - Creative Resistance: Protest Across Art, Occupation, and Time. The lecture will be held at Book Passage's Corte Madera store on Tuesday, November 18 at 4 p.m.

Faculty speakers are Lynn Sondag, professor of art and honors program director; Karen McCarthy, associate professor of occupational therapy, and Jordan Lieser, associate professor of history and associate dean, School of Liberal Arts and Education.

Creative Resistance: Protest Across Art, Occupation, and Time brings together Dominican University faculty from Art, History, and Occupational Therapy for an interdisciplinary dialogue on the meaning and impact of protest.

The panelists will explore how creative expression amplifies civic engagement and social cohesion, how historical movements shape contemporary struggles, and how occupations are engaged in acts of resistance. The event invites participants to consider the cultural, historical, and embodied dimensions of protest, and to reflect on what these perspectives reveal about collective action and social change.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
