March 4, 2026

The WWU Sustainability Engagement Institute (SEI) is happy to announce Viva Farms is returning for another season with the Viking Supported Agriculture program, hosted by SEI, running from June 10 through Nov. 18, !

Anyone in the WWU community can sign up for an affordable weekly delivery of fresh, local, and organic produce, herbs, berries, and available extras (bread, yum!) delivered directly from their fields to our lobby in High Street Hall. For those of you who aren't familiar with Viva Farms, they are a non-profit providing invaluable services to the local agriculture community, and we are happy to support this amazing organization. Check them out at https://vivafarms.org/. Eating local, organic food is good for your health, the community, and the planet!

We are incredibly pleased to announce that, again this year, the Sustainability Engagement Institute will accept EBT/SNAP payments at our office in High Street Hall on behalf of Viva Farms! EBT shares are half the price of regular shares!

Viva Farms also offers sliding scale pricing! Signups are open now! Please visit https://vivafarms.org/csa/to get your produce delivered weekly to our office. Simply choose WWU as your pickup location. A small CSA share will easily nourish 2 people weekly, and Viva Farms sends out an email each week to their subscribers with the box contents, recipes and storage instructions!

Viva Farms also offers bulk purchases, which SEI utilizes each year to help stock the student food pantries on Western's campus. If you would like to donate to these bulk purchases and help our food insecure community members access good local organic food, please visit this link Donate Food.THANK YOU to our sustaining and past donors!
