County Commissioners announce collaboration with JCP&L to offer energy assistance information sessions

FREEHOLD, NJ - The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is proud to collaborate with Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) to host a series of in-person information sessions aimed at educating residents about energy assistance programs available to them.

These sessions will provide residents with direct access to resources, guidance, and answers to questions about qualifying for and applying to a variety of assistance programs, including those for utility bill support, energy efficiency, and low-income household energy needs.

"Connecting residents with the resources they need has always been a top priority for Monmouth County," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. "We are excited to work with JCP&L to bring these vital programs directly into our communities, helping ensure that no one is left behind simply because they don't know where to turn. These sessions will serve as a bridge between our residents and the support they may desperately need."

JCP&L leadership echoed this commitment to community engagement and access.

"JCP&L is committed to meeting our customers where they are - in the communities we serve," said Doug Mokoid, President of Jersey Central Power & Light. "Engaging with Monmouth County, we're making it easier for customers to access the energy assistance programs available to them. Each year, too many families miss out on help they qualify for simply because they don't know where to start. By bringing these resources directly into our neighborhoods, we're helping ensure that every customer can get the support they need."

The information sessions will be held at locations throughout Monmouth County and will include representatives from both JCP&L and Monmouth County, among other community partners.
