Bandung, October 15, 2026 - PT Bio Farma (Persero) has received the 2026 Primaniyarta Award in the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Utilization Exporter category at the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), held at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Wednesday (October 14).
The award, presented by Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, was received by Bio Farma's Commercial Director, Fitri Puspadewi. This marks the 12th Primaniyarta Award received by Bio Farma since 2010, recognizing the company's contribution to Indonesia's national exports.
At the 40th TEI in 2025, Bio Farma received the Primaniyarta Lifetime Achievement Award. Bio Farma was also the only state-owned enterprise (SOE) to receive a Primaniyarta Award that year.
Bio Farma's contribution to national exports is reflected in cumulative export value exceeding IDR 10 trillion over the 2021-2025 period. Its vaccine products have also reached more than 150 countries. These achievements demonstrate the competitiveness of Indonesia's healthcare industry in international markets and its contribution to the country's export performance.
The FTA Utilization Exporter category recognizes exporters that consistently leverage free trade agreements to increase exports and expand access to international markets. For Bio Farma, FTA utilization is an integral part of its market development strategy and efforts to strengthen global partnerships.
Bio Farma Commercial Director Fitri Puspadewi said the award would motivate the company to further enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian healthcare products.
"This award motivates Bio Farma to continue strengthening the competitiveness of our products in international markets. By optimizing the utilization of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), we aim to unlock broader market opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and increase the contribution of Indonesian healthcare products to national exports," Fitri said.
With nearly three decades of experience in international markets, Bio Farma has expanded the distribution of its healthcare products through strategic partnerships with various global institutions and international procurement channels. Its products help support the continuity of immunization programs and access to essential vaccines in countries around the world.
Fitri added that international market development would continue to be driven by innovation, product quality improvements, and stronger cross-border collaboration to support sustainable export growth.
"We hope Indonesian healthcare products will not only compete in global markets but also make a meaningful contribution to strengthening health resilience and enhancing Indonesia's position in the global healthcare supply chain," Fitri added.
Alongside its international market expansion, Bio Farma continues to strengthen its capabilities and technological expertise to support national healthcare needs. One example is Bio-TCV, Bio Farma's typhoid conjugate vaccine, whose development involved research collaboration, technology transfer, clinical trials, and regulatory evaluation before receiving marketing authorization from Indonesia's National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM).
The development of Bio-TCV reflects Bio Farma's efforts to strengthen its expertise in conjugation technology and enhance national vaccine production capacity. These efforts are accompanied by a commitment to maintaining a sustainable product supply, expanding access, and providing high-quality vaccines at competitive prices. Public acceptance is also supported through collaboration with healthcare professional organizations, healthcare facilities, academic institutions, and evidence-based education.
At the 41st TEI, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso set a target of USD 17.5 billion in trade transactions, up from the previous year's target of USD 16.5 billion. He expressed appreciation for exporters and all stakeholders contributing to efforts to connect Indonesian products with international buyers.
"We hope the trade transaction value at Trade Expo Indonesia will meet the target, and hopefully even exceed it," Budi said.
As a state-owned life sciences company and part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, Bio Farma is committed to strengthening global competitiveness while supporting national healthcare self-sufficiency and resilience. Strengthening corporate governance, developing capabilities and innovation, and fostering collaboration across research, production, distribution, and healthcare services are integral to the company's transformation agenda.
Through these efforts, Bio Farma continues to support access to, availability of, and the sustainable supply of healthcare products and services for the people of Indonesia.
