MoDOT KC to host public information session on Oct. 6 ahead of the 11-month closure of I-70 in 2027

(JACKSON COUNTY) The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public information session to share more about the upcoming full closure of I-70 from downtown to the stadiums between Van Brunt Boulevard and Prospect Avenue.

The information session will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Gregg/Klice Community Center, located at 1600 John "Buck" O'Neil Way, Kansas City, MO 64108

This significant project will require an approximately 11-month closure of I-70 eastbound and westbound, scheduled to begin on Jan. 11, 2027, weather permitting. Whether you commute through the area, operate a business, work nearby, or live in the surrounding community, this meeting will help you prepare for the changes ahead.

The public information session will be open-house style and the public is welcome to stop by anytime.

The information session will provide the following opportunities for attendees:

• Learn about the project timeline
• View suggested detour routes
• Speak with project team members
• Ask questions and share your concerns
• Find resources to help you plan ahead
