Woman Charged Wednesday After Ramming Two Police Vehicles To Avoid Arrest

South Precinct officers arrested a 42-year-old woman early Wednesday morning on Spence Lane after she intentionally rammed her Cadillac sedan two separate times into marked patrol cars in an attempt to evade a traffic stop.

Shadarran Deondra Pointer was observed by an officer conducting an alleged narcotics transaction on Harding Place and drove off in her Cadillac, which did not have a visible registration tag displayed.

The Cadillac was followed to a Spence Lane apartment complex where a traffic stop was attempted after additional officers arrived. Pointer reached the end of the parking lot, turned the Cadillac around and, in order to escape, drove into the front driver's side of a police vehicle, which had two officers inside. A secondary patrol vehicle followed the Cadillac around the complex with emergency equipment activated and Pointer rammed the front driver's side of that MNPD vehicle.

Pointer was then extracted from the Cadillac and taken into custody.

Inside the Cadillac, officers found narcotics, drug paraphernalia and several stolen credit cards. She was also found to have an outstanding theft warrant out of Brentwood.

Pointer was charged with three counts of aggravated assault on an officer, felony drug possession, credit card fraud, vandalism, and evading arrest among other charges. She remains in custody this morning on $132,000 bond.
