SR57/60 Project: Planned Nighttime Work and Closures

A full overnight closure of northbound Grand Avenue will be in place from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and again from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.

The closures will allow San Gabriel Valley Council of Government (SGVCOG) work crews to prepare the area for the upcoming phased demolition and replacement of the Grand Avenue bridge as part of the SR57/60 Confluence Improvement Project.

The preparatory work includes the installation of new striping configuration and directional signage, extension of the temporary concrete barriers (known as K-rail) over the freeway bridge, and the creation of a new left-turn pocket to accommodate traffic that needs to access the eastbound loop on-ramp. For a visual of planned closures and traffic changes, refer to this map.

When the phased replacement of the Grand Avenue bridge gets underway later this fall, work will start on the northbound direction and take approximately 12 months to complete.
