Qualifying for August 11th Special Congressional Primary Election Will Open May 20th

The Alabama Democratic Party will open candidate qualifying for the August 11, 2026 Special Congressional Primary Election on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 9 AM. Candidate qualifying will close on Friday, May 22nd at 5 PM.

Those wishing to qualify in congressional districts 1, 2, 6 or 7 can complete the process online at aldemocrats.org. Instructions for how to complete the process will be published on the ADP website on May 20th at the opening of qualifying.

While we strongly encourage everyone looking to qualify to use the online option, those wishing to submit their paperwork in-person may visit the Alabama Democratic Party Headquarters during the operating hours listed on the Party website.
