Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced today that a 22-year-old man is heading to state prison for having an illegal firearm in his car.
Trejon Faircloth was sentenced Wednesday by the Honorable Andra Ackerman to serve four years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after he pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
On May 10 at 11:42 p.m., New York State Police pulled over a vehicle traveling west on I-90 in Guilderland for numerous traffic violations. Faircloth, who was on probation at the time, was acting suspiciously and had his driver's license suspended and an expired inspection sticker. A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun under his driver's seat and a backpack filled with narcotics - 149 grams of oxycodone pills, 84 grams of heroin, 41.5 grams of cocaine, and three ounces of cannabis.
Faircloth was also found with scales and baggies consistent with distribution and $2,200 cash.
Assistant District Attorney Marissa Olsen of the Street Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
