Protecting New Jersey's drinking water starts in Morris County.

Senator Anthony M. Bucco (R-Morris, Passaic) has introduced the Headwaters Guardian Act to safeguard the critical sources of streams and rivers that supply water to millions of New Jersey residents.

Bill S-4897 would recognize Morris County communities where headwaters begin and serve as a primary source of drinking water for at least 1 million residents, creating a proactive framework for watershed stewardship.

The program would help preserve water quality, improve resilience, reduce flood damage, and ensure a reliable water supply for generations to come.
