On January 29, 2026, West District General Patrol officers responded to the Roslyn area regarding a report of a taxi robbery and located the suspect still in the vehicle, where he was taken into custody.

At approximately 5:22 p.m., a taxi driver transporting a passenger in the 1-99 block of Nassau Street was assaulted and threatened with a weapon. The suspect stole the driver's personal property, destroyed the taxi camera, and continued the assault while making additional threats before the victim was able to exit the vehicle. The suspect then drove away in the taxi. The victim did not require medical attention.

Responding officers located the taxi near the intersection of River Avenue and Norquay Street. The suspect was found in the driver's seat and was uncooperative during his arrest. He also displayed signs of impairment, was in possession of alcohol, and refused to provide a breath sample. During the arrest, the suspect provided a different name, and was in possession of another person's identification.
