Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada Achieves a National First in Pediatric Motion Analysis


Home to Canada's only motion analysis center accredited by the Commission for Motion Laboratory Accreditation

Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada today announces that its motion analysis center (MAC) has been accredited by the Commission for Motion Laboratory Accreditation (CMLA), making it the first and only accredited motion analysis laboratory in Canada. The internationally recognized accreditation acknowledges excellence in clinical motion analysis.

The accreditation demonstrates the hospital's commitment to providing children and families with exceptional pediatric care. Motion analysis is a highly precise assessment that helps clinicians better understand how a child moves and develop personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, function and quality of life.

Access to this level of expertise and technology is rare in Canadian healthcare settings, making the MAC a unique resource for children and families seeking answers about mobility and movement.

The MAC uses advanced technology to assess movement and provide objective data that supports care decisions tailored to each child.

The information gathered through motion analysis helps guide:
