ADFW 2025 Market Report: Argentem Creek on the CEO’s Risk Playbook

Abu Dhabi Global Market has released the ADFW 2025 Market Report, distilling the conversations held across the fourth edition of Abu Dhabi Finance Week. The week drew 35,000 participants and more than 800 speakers, with the leaders present representing institutions that together steward over USD 63 trillion in assets. Held under the theme "Engineering the Capital Network," it confirmed Abu Dhabi's standing as one of the most significant financial convenings in the world.

ACME board member, Paula Fontenla, featured in the "Risk & Regulation: A CEO's Playbook" session, alongside Richard Teng of Binance, William Stone of SS&C Technologies, Rola Abu Manneh of Standard Chartered and Andreas Berger of Swiss Re, in a discussion moderated by Sherrese Smith of Paul Hastings.

The panel examined the high-consequence risks increasingly shaping leadership agendas, from geopolitical exposure and sudden enforcement action to cyber incidents, fraud and shareholder activism. The discussion explored operating amid heightened volatility, navigating multiple regulatory regimes, and the evolution in artificial intelligence from experimentation toward governance. Throughout, a common thread emerged: the need for leadership teams align risk, regulation, reputation and resilience they continue to converge.
