The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Maria Tripodi, took part today, on behalf of Minister Tajani, in the 14th Steering Committee meeting for Internationalisation, held at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and co-chaired by Minister Adolfo Urso, with the participation of the 'Sistema Italia' agencies and representatives from institutions and the production sector. The Steering Committee meets annually to set out the Government's policy guidelines for supporting the internationalisation of businesses.
In her speech, Tripodi provided an update on the implementation of the Export Action Plan and on the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support Italian businesses in international markets. Over the past year, more than 50 business missions and forums have been organised, involving around 7,500 businesses, whilst in the first few months of 2026 numerous events and meetings with the national business community have already been held. The 'Export Objective' series of events is also continuing; following stops in Turin and Bari, it will move on to Rome in October, ahead of the National Export Conference scheduled to take place in Milan at the end of the year.
"It is essential to continue supporting Italian businesses by diversifying their export markets, making full use of the European Union's trade agreements, and taking a systematic approach to strengthen the Italian innovation ecosystem, which is made up of young entrepreneurs, start-up founders and many innovative SMEs," the Undersecretary emphasised.
