CASE: Ramon Trillo (Case #25FE004108)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Maroun, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit
On April 24, 2026, the Honorable Steve White sentenced Ramon Trillo to 6 years in prison. On February 26, 2026, a jury convicted Trillo of pimping, pandering and assault with a semi-automatic firearm. The jury also found true a personal use of a firearm allegation.
On November 15, 2024, officers responded to reports of a vehicle collision and a possible shooting. When officers arrived, no individuals were located at the scene; however, investigators recovered two vehicle bumpers. One bumper was quickly identified as belonging to Trillo and the other was identified as belonging to the victim. Officers later located both vehicles with fresh damage consistent with the parts recovered at the crash site. Investigators also recovered a bullet fragment at the scene that was consistent with unique ammunition used in a firearm registered to Trillo. Subsequent gunshot residue testing returned positive results for particles on Trillo's hands and on the driver's side window of his vehicle. The Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force was notified and conducted a review of cell phone data associated with both the victim and Trillo. Investigators determined the victim had been engaged in commercial sex work and was providing the proceeds to Trillo. Evidence further showed Trillo had been grooming the victim to work for him since January 2023. During an interview, the victim disclosed she had been in a relationship with Trillo, and he had acted as her pimp for most of that relationship.
