SALT LAKE CITY (Nov. 10, 2025) - Jared Mendenhall has been selected as the new communication director for the Department of Workforce Services. Mendenhall is taking over for Christina Davis, who served in the role for the past five years.
"Jared has been a key member of our department for several years and is well known for his exceptional communications work," said Casey Cameron, executive director for Workforce Services. "Jared is a proven public servant and also brings a depth of experience in private-sector communications, making him uniquely suited for this new role."
Mendenhall has been a leading member of the department's Communication Division for four years as a public information officer. During that time, he has regularly represented the department for the monthly jobs report, supported the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation's mission to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment, and has been a dedicated mentor to staff.
"I'm excited to support all the divisions at Workforce Services as we work to strengthen Utah's communities and help our neighbors in need,' said Mendenhall. "Our core mission is to connect the workforce to new opportunities and provide a path to self-sufficiency. I look forward to continuing this important mission for the department in my new role."
Prior to joining Workforce Services, Mendenhall was a public information officer for The Utah Department of Environmental Quality, a private sector marketing manager and founding editor of Utah CEO Magazine. Mendenhall is a graduate from the University of Utah.
