HM the King Congratulates Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on Election as OIC SG

His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a congratulatory message to Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election as Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

In this message, the Sovereign expresses to the new OIC Secretary-General His warm congratulations and sincere wishes for full success in the fulfillment of his high duties, following the trust placed in him by the Organization's member states.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King expressed His conviction that Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed will be able to leverage his rich experience and distinguished career, accumulated over several decades of diplomatic and UN service, to promote the OIC's active role in coordinating joint Islamic action, serving the supreme interests of the Ummah, and consolidating the bonds of solidarity and fruitful cooperation among its peoples.

His Majesty the King assured the new Secretary-General of the Kingdom of Morocco's constant support for the Organization's noble initiatives, as well as its firm commitment to anything that would strengthen the unity of the Islamic Ummah, promote its influence, and foster its prosperity.
