Privacy Awareness Week, occurring this year from May 4 to 8, aims to raise awareness of privacy issues and promote the protection of personal information.
As your Chief Privacy Officer, I invite you to attend an in-depthdiscussion on responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the government context, hosted by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. This session is open to all Defence Team members.
This discussion will explore how government institutions can apply Privacy by Design to foster responsible AI and public trust. It will cover practical guidance for embedding privacy into the development of AI-enabled programs and strengthening governance to support transparent AI use, as well as insights on Privacy Act modernization with an OPC case study. Participants will gain actionable strategies to implement AI responsibly and enhance confidence in government services.
