The City of Southfield is now accepting entries for the 2026 Southfield Photo Prize, celebrating ten years of showcasing the community through photography.
This nationally recognized and award-winning competition highlights the natural beauty, architecture, and everyday moments that define Southfield while transforming the city into an outdoor public art exhibition.
Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, June 30, 2026 via email or mail.
Submissions will be reviewed by the Total Living Commission, Public Arts Commission, and a panel of professional photographers. The top entries will be selected for a public exhibition.
Selected photographs will be enlarged and displayed on the Parks and Recreation building for public viewing and voting through September 4, 2026. The community is encouraged to visit the exhibition and experience the work on display.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October.
Photographers must live, work, worship, or attend school in the City of Southfield.
Participants may submit up to three original photographs taken within Southfield city limits. Images may be captured in any season and may be in color or black and white.
Basic editing is allowed, including cropping, color correction, dodging, and burning. No additional manipulation is permitted.
If cropping, images should follow a 4 by 3 or 3 by 4 ratio. Final cropping may be adjusted by city staff as needed.
All submissions must be high resolution with at least 300 DPI and a minimum of 2,000 pixels. Accepted formats include JPEG, TIFF, or PDF.
