SafetyCulture acquires Twine to accelerate agentic platform ambitions

Brian Swift is returning to SafetyCulture as VP, AI, bringing a specialist team with deep experience building agentic AI products

7 April 2026 - SafetyCulture, the global operations platform used by more than 85,000 organisations worldwide, today announced it has brought on the team behind Twine, a Sydney-based AI startup, as part of its continued investment in artificial intelligence and a broader push to transform into an agentic AI platform.

The move brings experienced builders into the business who are focused on growing SafetyCulture's AI capabilities. The team behind Twine have built AI products that help organisations turn complex information into clear, usable insights -an experience SafetyCulture will apply directly to its platform.

As part of the acquisition, Brian Swift returns to SafetyCulture as VP, AI, reporting to founder and CEO Luke Anear. Brian previously served as VP of Product before going on to Dovetail and later co-founding Twine. He brings with him Chris Manouvrier and Bec Lourey as two strong additions to the Product & Engineering team.

SafetyCulture CEO and Founder, Luke Anear, said: "From the minute I wake up until I go to sleep, I'm working on how we move to an agentic-first experience. Brian knows our customers and the problems we're solving, and that he can now have a bigger impact than ever before."

Swift, who first joined SafetyCulture back in 2017, said it's the company's mission that has brought him back.

Commenting on the deal, Twine Founder and CEO, Brian Swift, said: "SafetyCulture has always been built around the people out in the world doing the real work. There's a real opportunity here to build AI capabilities that make a genuine difference for them."
