Amo Statement on Trump’s “Deal” Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

PROVIDENCE, RI - TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI) released the following statement on Trump's "Deal Between Armenia and Azerbaijan."

"Rather than finding a true resolution that addresses deep-seated issues, President Trump's latest tactic in his campaign for a Nobel Peace Prize fails to protect Armenian sovereignty and security. The Armenian people have struggled for so long and deserve a serious deal, and accountability from Azerbaijan. Armenia needs a peace plan that releases Armenian prisoners of war, protects Armenian cultural sites, and allows the more than 120,000 Armenian refugees to return to Artsakh, their ancestral home, to live in peace and safety. I am hoping this announcement is a move toward something real, not another self-aggrandizing stunt that we've become too accustomed to seeing."
