Women & Philanthropy is now accepting applications for its 2026 grant, offering up to $35,000 to support a forward-thinking project or program at The University of Toledo.
The grant opportunity is open to UToledo faculty, staff and students from all campuses.
Proposals will be evaluated by the Women & Philanthropy Grants Committee, and the selected project will be determined by a vote of the organization's general membership. This funding represents a meaningful investment in ideas that advance learning, research and community engagement across the University.
Since launching its grant program in 2008, Women & Philanthropy has played a vital role in enhancing the UToledo campus through philanthropic support of innovative initiatives. Early funding included the organization's inaugural $15,000 grant, which commissioned "A University Woman," a glass sculpture by the late Thomas McGlaughlin. Displayed in Carlson Library, the artwork has become a lasting symbol of Women & Philanthropy's mission.
For more than 15 years, Women & Philanthropy members have collectively contributed over $700,000, funding 25 impactful projects that range from advanced laboratory spaces and instructional resources to public art and inclusive learning environments. Each grant reflects the organization's commitment to collaboration, creativity and long-term impact.
The 2026 grant cycle continues this tradition, providing up to $35,000 for projects that demonstrate innovation and campus-wide benefit. Applicants should review the Grant Application and Guidelines online form for eligibility and submission details. Applications must be submitted by Sunday, Feb. 15, and the grant recipient will be announced in May.
This is an opportunity to turn a promising idea into a reality at UToledo. Apply now and be part of the Women & Philanthropy legacy.
