Secretly Announces Expanded Schedule of Special Events For 30th Anniversary Celebration, What Comes After the Blues: Secretly 30 in Bloomington, Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, IN - AUGUST 18, 2026 : Later this month, from August 27th-29th, Secretly will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of its founding with What Comes After the Blues: Secretly 30 in Bloomington, Indiana. Taking place in the city where Secretly first began, and where it is still headquartered - amongst the basements and young weirdos in love with the idea of what music could be - the three-day concert series will feature milestone performances from artists who have and will continue to shape the company's past, present and future, alongside an expanded slate of special radio takeovers, readings, day parties, DJ sets, surprise guests and more that has just been announced today. New highlights include the first live show in seven years from Secretly co-founder Ben Swanson's band Tammar, who joins a bill with Santa Cruz / NYC-based band Racecourse, as each event takes over a local venue essential to the story of both Secretly and the city. In the three decades since its creation, Secretly has grown from the Midwest basement of an infrastructure-less, nearly internet-less college town humming with energy, romanticism and seemingly endless possibilities, into a leading, international arbiter of independent music and brave, bold voices. Now encompassing Secretly Group (Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Secretly Canadian), All Flowers Group (drink sum wtr, Ghostly International, Sacred Bones Records), Secretly Distribution, Secretly Publishing, Numero Groupand Merge Records, the company has elevated and championed independent artistry through its innovative, influential and indispensable artist-centered ethos - from Bon Iver to Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, Japanese Breakfast, Sharon Van Etten, The War On Drugs, Kevin Morby, Khruangbin, Wednesday, MUNA, Jason Molina, Angel Olsen, Bright Eyes, Faye Webster, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Dinosaur Jr., Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Avalon Emerson, Mustafa, Jamila Woods, Chanel Beads and dozens more.

Much has expanded and changed, but much remains the same: a tireless dedication to timeless sounds and earnest, resonant songwriting, challenging the mainstream and proving that culture's most important contributions come from artists and the small or medium-sized businesses that support them.

"Some of the most rewarding moments of the last 30 years have been with our artists, colleagues and community in a single room," said Secretly Canadian and Secretly Group's Bloomington-based co-founder, Ben Swanson. "I couldn't be more stoked to celebrate our anniversary with old friends and new in the town we love. Our beloved Bill Fay said it best: Life is People."
