Ranking Member Shaheen, Senator Daines Statement after Meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Denmark and Greenland

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Steve Daines (R-MT), chairman of the Europe and Regional Security Cooperation Subcommittee, released the following statement after their meeting with the Foreign Minister of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, and the Foreign Minister of Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt.

"We were pleased to welcome Foreign Ministers Rasmussen and Motzfeldt to the United States Senate today. We discussed the shared security interests of the United States, Greenland and Denmark. Given the many threats around the globe, today's meeting highlights the need for all NATO countries to work together to protect the alliance, especially in the Arctic."
