Consistent respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty of all UN member states required

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Republic of Serbia consistently advocates respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all United Nations member states, as well as full respect for the Charter of the United Nations and the fundamental norms of public international law.

Based on the belief that all open issues must be resolved exclusively through peaceful means, dialogue and within the framework of internationally accepted rules, Serbia attaches particular importance to mutual support among states in protecting these principles.

In this context, the Republic of Serbia recalls that the illegal unilateral secession of Kosovo and Metohija has created a dangerous precedent that continues to produce destabilising consequences for the global order not only in Europe, but also in Africa and other regions of the world.

Based on these principled positions and the spirit of mutual respect, the Republic of Serbia expresses full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and encourages all efforts aimed at preserving peace, stability and inclusive political dialogue, the statement states.
