Mexico-U.S. Collaboration with Respect for Sovereignty, Shared Responsibility, Mutual Trust, and Cooperation Without Subordination

Guided by the principles of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, shared and differentiated responsibility, mutual respect and trust, and cooperation without subordination, the security relationship between Mexico and the United States has reached historic levels of collaboration, enabling both nations to address the shared challenges of drug and arms trafficking for the benefit of our peoples.

The exchange of information and intelligence, combined with decisive actions by the Security Cabinet, has recently led to successful operations against instigators of violence, such as the operation against Rubén Oseguera Cervantes on February 22, as well as the arrest and subsequent transfer to the U.S. of Samuel "N," one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. Additionally, this week authorities seized more than 270 kilograms of fentanyl in Colima, equivalent to approximately 14 million doses that will never reach the streets.

Operations against transnational organized crime in Mexico are planned and carried out by Mexican security forces, while maintaining close collaboration with U.S. agencies in accordance with the Border Security and Law Enforcement Cooperation Program.

The Mexican government acts decisively, guided by its national security strategy and in strict adherence to its laws, against organized crime and impunity. President Trump's administration knows that this cooperation exists, always with full respect for our sovereignty and territorial integrity.
