Hy-Vee Pharmacy Patients Can Now Purchase New Wegovy® Pill for Weight Loss Through Collaboration with GoodRx

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Jan. 9, 2026) - Hy-Vee, Inc. announces today that through its partnership with GoodRx, the newly FDA-approved Wegovy® pill (oral semaglutide) is now available to be purchased with GoodRx and filled at Hy-Vee Pharmacy locations across the Midwest.

The once-daily Wegovy® pill is available through GoodRx at a cash price of $149 per month for the two lowest doses (1.5 mg and 4 mg). The FDA recently approved the Wegovy® pill as the first oral GLP-1 treatment for weight management in adults and appears to already be in high demand. The pill is available through GoodRx with a prescription.

Eligible patients can access the $149-per-month GoodRx savings in one of two ways:

• Show a GoodRx coupon for Wegovy® at any Hy-Vee Pharmacy location or,
• Scan the RxSmartSaver powered by GoodRx QR code at the Hy-Vee Pharmacy counter to instantly unlock the same savings on their smartphone

Within its grocery stores, Hy-Vee offers nutrition support for those taking GLP-1 medications. The grocer carries a wide selection of products and supplements in its pharmacy and HealthMarket departments designed to support patients throughout their weight management journey. Hy-Vee also offers one-on-one dietitian services, available virtually and in-person, to help individuals manage conditions like diabetes and weight loss. Many of these dietitian services can be covered by insurance.

Wegovy® is approved along with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as death, heart attack or stroke in adults with known heart disease, and may help adults with obesity, or some adults with excess weight who also have weight-related medical problems to help them lose excess body weight and keep the weight off.

Patients may experience side effects, the most common of which are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain and gastric upset. Patients should discuss possible side effects with their prescriber or pharmacist.
