PLA conducts 'Justice Mission 2025' drills around Taiwan islands

The People's Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command started the "Justice Mission 2025" drills on Monday, said Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the command.

According to Shi, the PLA Eastern Theater Command is dispatching its Army, Navy, Air Force, and Rocket Force troops to conduct joint military drills in the Taiwan Strait and areas to the north, southwest, southeast, and east of Taiwan Island. The drills focus on sea-air combat readiness patrols, joint seizure of comprehensive superiority, blockades of key ports and areas, as well as all-dimensional deterrence outside the island chain.

With vessels and aircraft approaching Taiwan Island in close proximity from different directions, troops from multiple services are engaging in joint assaults to test their joint operations capabilities, he said in a statement.

This is a stern warning against "Taiwan Independence" separatist forces, and it is a legitimate and necessary action to safeguard China's sovereignty and national unity, he said.
