On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my congratulations to the people of Barbados on your Independence Day and commend our close cooperation in advancing Caribbean security and prosperity.
The United States values our close cooperation with Barbados in strengthening regional security, combating narcotics trafficking, and countering illegal immigration. Our partnership through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative and other joint efforts underscores our shared commitment to countering transnational crime and promoting safety across our hemisphere. We are also advancing economic and energy cooperation that fosters opportunity and prosperity for both Americans and Barbadians.
The United States values its enduring friendship with Barbados and looks forward to continued collaboration in support of a more secure and thriving hemisphere.
