The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that new Stage 5 traffic patterns will be implemented on Route 17 southbound as part of the Exit 36 off-ramp removal and on New London Turnpike in Glastonbury as part of No. 00389 demolition work. The traffic pattern includes a permanent closure of the left-hand Exit 36 on Route 17 SB on October 1, 2026, and a temporary closure of New London Turnpike between Oak Street and the New London Turnpike on Route 17 Southbound between October 9, 2026, and October 12, 2026. Advance warning and detour signage will be in place to assist motorists through the work zone.

Project 0053-0189 is located on New London Turnpike in Glastonbury between Sycamore Street and Oak Street. This project consists of construction of a new roundabout on New London Turnpike and modifications to Route 17.
