Community partners and City agencies - including the Greensboro Public Library, Creative Greensboro, Greensboro History Museum, and Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department - will host a number of events to celebrate Juneteenth. Events will include live music and performances, food, art, educational programs, wellness activities, and family-friendly programs.
The festivities begin on Thursday, June 11, with the Juneteenth: Freedom, Health, and Community event at the Glenwood Branch Library, 1901 W. Florida St, and continue through the Juneteenth Gospel Interfaith Celebration and Rhythm & Praise After Party at Barber Park on Sunday, June 21.

"It's known across the state and country that Greensboro is a city deeply rooted in the fight for civil rights," said Gina Fisher, the special event coordinator for Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. "Getting to celebrate and remember that history with the wide variety of upcoming Juneteenth events is incredibly exciting and offers our community a chance to come together."
