ICE HSI Philadelphia arrests Cuban national for alleged unlawful voting in 2024 election

PHILADELPHIA - ICE's Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested Osmal Sanchez Loy, a Cuban national, for unlawful voting Oct. 23. Loy was arrested following an ICE Homeland Security Investigations Allentown investigation.

"Protecting our electoral integrity remains a top priority," said HSI Special Agent in Charge Nathan Abel. "We will continue working with our partners to hold violators accountable."

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has accepted the case for prosecution.

Loy was convicted of a dangerous drugs charge in 1987 and receiving stolen property in 1991. He never adjusted his immigration status to become a lawful permanent resident and has a final order of removal from April 2009.

Under President Trump, Secretary Mullin and acting ICE Director David J. Venturella's leadership, ICE is once again focused on enforcing the law, protecting the public and removing dangerous individuals from our communities.

This investigation reflects HSI Philadelphia's continued commitment to protecting the integrity of the nation's electoral process through coordination with federal, state and local law enforcement partners.
