The Social Security Administration (SSA) is testing the use of the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) mobile driver's licenses (mDLs) for identity verification at 30 select California Social Security offices, including the SSA including SSA offices in San Mateo County: San Mateo, Daly City, and Redwood City. The mDL allows you to present your ID digitally on your phone. It is free, secure, and convenient - no physical card required.
