China: Tree Nuts Annual

China's walnut production is forecast to increase 7 percent to 1.6 million metric tons in marketing year 2026/27, supported by favorable growing conditions in major producing regions. Production of other tree nuts, particularly macadamias, hazelnuts, and pecans, is also expected to expand as additional planted acreage reaches maturity. In contrast, U.S. tree nut imports are expected to decline, except for almonds, as growing domestic supplies and economic headwinds constrain import demand. Note: The analysis in this report is based on the tariffs in effect as of September 28, prior to any potential tariff reductions under the Board of Trade.
