Final Week for Spokane Falls Boulevard Survey

Last Call: Take a moment this week to help fine-tune plans for updating Spokane Falls Boulevard. The planning study to help plan for the rebuild and utility replacement for Spokane Falls Boulevard is in its final stages, and we need your help.

"This is the opportunity to weigh in on the concepts that were developed from the community's priorities as we move into the design phase," says Public Works Director Marlene Feist.

How to Weigh In
As the study wraps up, the City is asking the community to watch a short video and complete a survey to provide feedback on the concept designs for the corridor. The survey closes at the end of the day on Friday, July 31.

Presented in a five-minute video format, the concepts were developed using feedback gathered during previous outreach efforts. The first survey identified these priorities:

• Improving pedestrian safety and access
• Enhancing the corridor's appearance
• Supporting downtown activity
• Creating a more connected transportation network

The high-traffic scenic downtown street includes traveling past the Spokane Convention Center and First Interstate Center for the Arts, Riverfront Park, and the Place of Truths Plaza. Originally named Front Avenue, it was a wide dirt road lined with the railroad depot, warehouses, rooming houses, and industrial businesses. The underground infrastructure includes some pipes dating back to the 1890s that are still being used today.

Once the planning study is complete, the next steps are design work and securing funding. Construction is estimated to begin in 2028 and expected to take two years to complete.
