Sunnyvale Celebrates Grand Opening of All-Inclusive Playground at Lakewood Park
What:
You are invited to attend the City of Sunnyvale's Lakewood Park All-Inclusive Playground Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, highlighting the recently renovated space-themed Lakewood Park playground. The playground is designed for children of all abilities to play together safely, with features that support physical, sensory, and social development.
New features include:
- Playground
- Tot lot
- Exercise equipment
When: Wednesday, July 29 at 10 a.m.
Where:
Lakewood Park
834 Lakechime Drive.
The playground is located in the southeast corner of the park.
Parking: Street parking is available along Lakechime and Silverlake drives.
Details: The event will feature remarks from Mayor Larry Klein and Director of Public Works Aaron Bert.
The full park project is scheduled for completion in 2027. Additional improvements coming to the park include a new dog park, water play area, new natural grass sports fields, a new concession stand and restroom building, batting cages, and a renovated skate park.
The playground renovation is funded in part by the County of Santa Clara's All-Inclusive Playground Grant Program.
