An A330 transport plane from the Spanish Air and Space Force took off this afternoon from Oman with 237 Spanish citizens on board, as part of the operation deployed to evacuate civilians after the outbreak of the conflict with Iran.

The aircraft, which is scheduled to land tonight at Torrejón Air Base, is the second sent by the Spanish Air and Space Force in this conflict, following the repatriation of another 171 citizens on Thursday 5 March.

With this mission, the Armed Forces join the Government's efforts to bring back Spaniards who are in the region.

The plane that is already flying towards our country landed in Oman on Friday morning from Djibouti, after changing its route after picking up the 57th contingent of the 'Orion' Tactical Air Detachment, which was participating in the European Union's 'Atalanta' operation to fight piracy.
