Crawley High Street will come alive with music on Wednesday 18 June as Crawley Borough Council launches the first of its brand-new, free, High Street Summer Sounds live music events with headline act, The Cureheads.
This year marks 50 years since The Cure formed in Crawley and residents and visitors are set to enjoy a fantastic evening of live performances from The Cureheads and Brighton-based singer, Stephen Murphy.
The Cureheads are the longest-running and arguably the most well-known tribute band dedicated to The Cure. The band recreates The Cure's live sound and visual style in performance.
Stephen Murphy is a British singer and songwriter based in Brighton. He grew up heavily inspired by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, R.E.M and Radiohead, which he channels in his music.
The High Street Summer Sounds series of music events will be held every Thursday evening between 5pm and 8pm and will be free to attend. It will showcase local talent, as well as other national acts.
The line-up for the second High Street Summer Sounds on Thursday 25 June will feature Crawley-based, British singer and songwriter Mia Ardinez, Brighton-born Americana and pop-rock artist Gina Larner, and contemporary singer and songwriter, Alex Francis.
We're thrilled to bring High Street Summer Sounds to life, showcasing the very best of Crawley's musical heritage. It's a great opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy live music, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of our town centre, as well as support local bars and restaurants on the High Street.
