City Selects Suffolk to Build New City Hall and Parking Garage, Launching Major Local Hiring Effort with Two Community Job Fairs

The City of Pompano Beach and the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), in partnership with master developer RocaPoint Partners (RP Pompano, LLC), are proud to announce the selection of Suffolk, one of the nation's most innovative and successful builders, to build the City's new City Hall and Parking Garage. Serving as the anchor for the City's New Downtown, this transformational civic project kicks off a $2B mixed-use development featuring four million square feet of retail, residential, office, hotel, and civic uses - projected to generate over $40M in annual local tax revenue, 3,080 recurring annual jobs, and 5,752 construction jobs.

Following a competitive evaluation process, Suffolk was selected for its highly competitive pricing, more than 40 years of construction excellence, and strong emphasis on encouraging local subcontractor, vendor, and workforce participation. A national builder with deep roots in South Florida, Suffolk brings an approach centered on opening doors for local firms and workers to participate in this landmark civic project. Led by Kyle Goebel, Suffolk Vice President of Operations, and a dedicated South Florida project team, Suffolk will combine its national expertise, advanced safety standards, and deep local relationships to deliver a state-of-the-art civic destination while creating lasting value for the Pompano Beach community.

Beyond constructing the new administrative offices, public service spaces, and City Parking Garage, Suffolk is committed to creating lasting economic opportunity by building strong partnerships with the local business community throughout every phase of construction. Reflecting that commitment, Suffolk, the City, the CRA, and RocaPoint Partners will host two upcoming job fairs to connect local residents, subcontractors, and vendors to the project and provide information on Suffolk's procurement process, workforce initiatives, and future opportunities. Both sessions will cover the same information and are offered at different times to provide flexible attendance options.

  • Wednesday, August 19th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center located at 520 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard

  • Thursday, August 20th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Emma Lou Olson Center located at 1801 NE 6th Street

The interactive sessions will give local businesses, suppliers, trade contractors, and construction professionals an opportunity to meet the project team, learn about Suffolk's procurement process, and gain insight into upcoming bid packages, trade prequalification, and workforce opportunities. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes, trade licenses, certifications, scope of services, and capability statements to share with the team.

Building on that commitment, Suffolk will host a follow-up networking event designed to connect subcontractors with local construction crews, helping them build strategic partnerships, navigate qualification requirements, including insurance, and position themselves for future contracting opportunities.

In addition to attending the upcoming job fairs, interested parties or anyone with questions regarding the bidding process are invited to reach out directly to Jessica Snyder, Estimating Coordinator at Suffolk, via email at [email protected].
