Sept. 12, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Intermittent closures of US 50 begin Sept. 15
Fremont County - The Colorado Department of Transportation will perform rockfall mitigation work between Texas Creek and Parkdale the weeks Sept. 15 and Sept. 22. US 50 will will open to traffic intermittently and traffic will alternate in a single lane, guided by flaggers.
Traffic Impacts
For the weeks of Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, motorists will encounter rockfall mitigation work on US 50 between MP 257 and MP 262 in Fremont County:

Working hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday

Roads will be opened to traffic intermittently

Traffic will alternate in one lane, guided by flaggers

Delays of up to 30 minutes are expected

Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

Watch for workers. Drive with caution.

Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.

Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
