On April 26, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin attended the preliminary round of the 2026 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese proficiency competition for college and secondary school students in Sweden. Eighteen contestants from nine universities and secondary schools across Sweden competed in the event, which drew an audience of nearly one hundred people, including Swedish sinologists, and Chinese language teachers and students.
In his remarks, Ambassador Zhou emphasized that the development of the "Chinese Bridge" competition in Sweden vividly reflects the important role of the Chinese language in carrying forward civilization, promoting communication, and creating opportunities. China's 15th Five-Year Plan outlines an ambitious blueprint for the country's development over the next five years and extends an invitation to all countries to pursue win-win cooperation. Learning Chinese will help better grasp the opportunities arising from China's development.
The event was co-hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, and co-organized by the "Chinese Bridge" Club Stockholm. After intense competition, Ambra Lundqvist from Stockholm University and Linnea Birgitta Andersson from Södra Latin Upper Secondary School won first place in the university and secondary school groups respectively.
