The President congratulated Poland on 3 May Constitution Day

On Sunday, President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Karol Nawrocki of Poland and the Polish people on 3 May Constitution Day.

According to Gitanas Nausėda, 3 May Constitution Day is a reminder of the common state once built by the two nations-Poles and Lithuanians, as well as its accomplishments and achievements. The Constitution consolidated what had been created together, aiming to strengthen the foundations of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth's statehood and to empower and unite people across all social classes.

"The spirit of the 3 May Constitution continues to inspire and oblige Lithuania and Poland to work hand in hand-to enhance the well-being of our countries and citizens, to take responsibility for strengthening the security of our nations and the wider region, and to pursue regional leadership. I am confident that, drawing on our shared historical experience, we will further develop our defense cooperation, reinforce our transatlantic ties with the United States, and together build a safer future," the message of congratulation states.

It also highlights that the enduring spirit of the Constitution is reflected in the close and multifaceted ties between the two countries, particularly through joint efforts to strengthen the resilience of regional infrastructure.

"Last year, we successfully synchronized our electricity systems with the continental European grids and opened a section of the Via Baltica highway linking Kaunas and Warsaw. These initiatives form an important part of the joint strategic projects between Lithuania and Poland, alongside the GIPL gas pipeline, the Harmony Link interconnection, and the Rail Baltica railway. I am convinced that by continuing our close strategic cooperation, we will further strengthen economic resilience, energy independence, and military mobility. This is a significant contribution to the shared security and solidarity of Europe," the Lithuanian leader's message reads.

Gitanas Nausėda wished the brotherly Polish nation unity, solidarity, leadership, and continued commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution, which mutually unite and bind Lithuania and Poland.
